Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 1, 2026
Kalora (“Kalora”, “we”, “us”) is provided by RiseGravity. This policy explains what data the Kalora mobile app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and display name, provided when you create an account. If you sign in with Google, we receive your basic Google profile (name, email).
- Nutrition and activity data you enter: tracking days, food entries, water intake, saved meals, your food library, goals and targets, and app settings.
- AI meal input: when you use the AI meal feature, the text (or transcribed speech) you submit is sent to our backend and to OpenAI to estimate calories and macros (see “Third parties” below).
- Device permissions: microphone and speech recognition are used only while you use voice input. Voice is transcribed on your device by the system speech framework; we do not store raw audio. Camera access will be used for barcode scanning when that feature launches.
- Notifications: if you enable reminders, they are scheduled locally on your device.
- Usage analytics: we collect anonymous, aggregate usage events (for example, screens viewed, “food added”, “AI meal analyzed”) via Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand how the app is used and to improve it. This does not include your food descriptions or personal content and uses no advertising identifier. You can turn this off anytime in Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage data.
We do not collect precise location or contacts, do not use an advertising identifier, and do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
How we use your data
- To provide and sync the app’s core features (tracking, analytics, history) to your account.
- To estimate nutrition for meals you submit to the AI feature.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service (for example, rate limiting and error handling).
Third parties (data processors)
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions) — stores your account and app data and runs our secure backend. See Google’s privacy policy.
- OpenAI — receives the meal text you submit to the AI feature to generate an estimate. Do not include sensitive personal information in AI meal descriptions. See OpenAI’s privacy policy and API data-usage terms.
We do not sell your personal data.
Data storage and retention
Your data is stored in Google Firebase and retained while your account exists. AI analysis records are kept to provide history and improve reliability. When you delete your account, this data is deleted (see below).
Deleting your account and data
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Profile → Delete account. This removes your profile, tracking days, food entries, water logs, library, saved meals, AI history and settings, and deletes your sign-in. This action is immediate and cannot be undone. You can also request deletion by email — see our data deletion page for both options.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and protected by Firebase Authentication and per-user security rules, so only you can access your own data.
Children
Kalora is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Health disclaimer
Nutrition values in Kalora are estimates and may be inaccurate. Kalora is not medical advice. Consult a qualified professional for personalized guidance.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
